Continuum of Care
Meramec Bluffs is a continuing care retirement community, which means that independent living, residential care, memory care and skilled nursing are available within our community.
Senior Living Apartment and Patio Homes
Meramec Bluffs features 260 spacious senior living apartments and 25 patio homes ; amenities include a generous meal allowance in the private dining room, twice monthly cleaning, heavy cleaning, all maintenance, an emergency call system and paid utilities.
Residential Care Apartments
We offer 56 private residential care apartments featuring 24-hour staffing, help with personal care, medication assistance, weekly housekeeping, linen service and buffet meal service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Memory Care
We offer 20 private and semi-private apartments with private baths for ambulatory individuals with Alzheimer's and related dementias plus Memory Skilled Care program features 20 rooms with private baths in a small, home-like setting for Alzheimer’s and related dementia residents who need extra attention.
Skilled Care
We offer 88 private and semi-private skilled nursing rooms with 24-hour professional nursing care
In-Home Services
Lutheran Senior Services recognizes additional help is sometimes needed. We offer nursing and therapy through Home Health, Private Duty and Hospice Care. In-home care coordinators are available on-site to personally assist residents.

Terry Etling is the Community Administrator of Meramec Bluffs. Terry has worked at LSS for fourteen years. She was the Community Administrator at Breeze Park for eleven years and has been at Meramec Bluffs for three years. She has worked in the long term care industry for over twenty-five years. She has her master’s degree from Webster University in health care management. Terry also teaches part time at the University of Missouri St. Louis in the gerontology program.

Karen Ledbetter, Administrator of Meramec Bluff’s Care Center, has 25 years’ experience in long term care. She holds a Master of Arts degree in gerontology from Webster University. She joined the LSS team in 2009. She lives in Belleville, Illinois. Karen’s passion for working with seniors can be attributed to her grandmother, Marguerite Rigney, who took a young Karen to the “rest home” each week to visit her great uncle.

Lauren Scherer, Senior Living Specialist at Meramec Bluffs, holds a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University. Her 15 years of senior care experience include 14 years as an Activity Therapist. Lauren joined LSS in 2005, and currently works in the Marketing Department as a Senior Living Specialist. She and her husband are actively involved in their church and live in Barnhart with their three dogs, Buddy, Sugar and Joshua.

Mimi Linhares has been a Senior Living Specialist with Meramec Bluffs for the past 4 years. Her prior sales and marketing experience were in the executive suite industry, where she leased and managed commercial office space, and in the Communications Department at St. Lukes Hospital. Mimi has been married for 38 years to her husband, George, and they have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.

Patricia Hawkinson is currently the Dining Services Director at Meramec Bluffs. She began her career with LSS in 1991 at Laclede Groves, and she became involved with the preparation and planning of the Meramec Bluffs Campus and moved there in 2002. Patricia has an Associates Degree in Dietetic Technology and Clinical Nutrition. She is married to Michael, they live in Labadie Missouri and both have grown children and several beautiful grandchildren.

Residents in our patio homes and apartment residences can take advantage of our on-site dining options, or enjoy a meal with friends and family in the comfort of their own home.
Come Dine With Us!
Residents in our independent living apartments can enjoy lunch or dinner in our beautifully appointed dining rooms. We offer two different meal plans, which you can utilize in our dining room, grill room, market, or ice cream parlor.
Our residential care dining area provides buffet service for three meals a day, while our memory care and care center areas provide table service. Our attentive dining services staff is always ready to assist you!

Sunday Brunch featuring Omelets to Order, Grill Ham, Blueberry Pancakes, Carved Roast Turkey Breast, Assorted Side Dishes and Salads, Fresh Fruits, Pastries and Beverages.
Monday
Beef Pepper Steak or Baked Sole with Lemon Sauce, with Rice Pilaf, Fresh Stir Fry Vegetables, Peas with Pearl Onions, Salad Bar, Bistro Dinner Roll, and Brownie ala Mode.
Tuesday
Beef Pot Roast and Vegetables or Polish Sausage & Sauerkraut, with Whipped Potatoes, French Style Green Beans, Salad Bar, and Coconut Crème Tart.
Wednesday
Spaghetti Bolognaise or Chicken Piccatta , with Oven Roasted Potato Wedges, Broccoli Spears with Lemon Butter, Candied Baby Carrots, Salad Bar, Garlic Bread Sticks, and Spumoni Ice Cream.
Thursday
Barbecued Baby Back Ribs or Turkey Cutlet with White Wine Sauce, with Baked Potatoes, Fresh Corn on the Cob, Green Bean Casserole, Salad Bar, Corn Muffins, and Peach Cobbler.
Friday
Stuffed Cod Filet or Orange Glazed Pork Tenderloin, with Escalloped Potatoes, Stewed Tomatoes, Fried Eggplant, Salad Bar, Homebaked Dinner Rolls, and Tiramisu.
Saturday

Meramec Bluffs, as a member of Lutheran Senior Services, strives to offer a wide variety of programs to nurture the faith of all residents. Deaconess Gayle has been Chaplain here at Meramec Bluffs for nearly three years. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with degrees in psychology and sociology, and from Concordia Seminary with a master’s degree
in Deaconess Studies in 2006. She joined the staff at Meramec Bluffs shortly thereafter. Deaconess Gayle is married and has seven children and five grandchildren.

Rev. Keith Weise has been Chaplain at Meramec Bluffs since July 2008. He served for three years as a parish pastor in Altenburg, Missouri, before joining LSS. He completed LSS’ Clinical Pastoral Education program in 2004, and graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 2005. Chaplain Weise lives in Florissant with his wife, Deanne, and their two daughters, Ali and Abigail.

Maggy Spencer has been with LSS since 2003. Hired as Director of Marketing, she moved into Stewardship after several years. Her background includes twelve years in funeral service, specializing in prearranged and estate funeral plans. Prior to this she worked in the hospitality area, representing Kraft Foodservice, and later Angelica Uniform. Maggy’s focus has always been on exemplary customer service. She has a master’s degree from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree from Washington University. She is a licensed funeral director as well as licensed in insurance for health and life. She serves as Director of Stewardship for the Meramec Bluffs and Breeze Park communities.

Benevolent Care
Contributions to our Benevolent Care Fund endow future financial assistance for residents who have exhausted their financial resources and are no longer able to afford service at their care level.
Good Samaritan
Good Samaritan donors support residents who are currently in need of additional funding to maintain their present level of care.
Christ Care
Donations to the Christ Care Fund help provide relief for Lutheran Senior Services staff members who are experiencing emergency financial needs.
Christian Artwork
Donors to the Christian Artwork fund help to purchase inspirational decorations for LSS communities, creating a feeling of home for our residents.
Clinical Pastoral Education
Funds donated to LSS' CPE program help support future ministry workers as they train for specialized ministries related to pastoral care, counseling, and/or older adult ministry.
Good Neighbor Program
Funds donated to the Good Neighbor Program help to support volunteers who provide referral to independent caregivers who provide basic household tasks and/or non-medical personal care.
Affordable Housing
Donations to LSS' Affordable Housing communities help provide housing and services for older adults with fewer economic resources.
Hospice Care
By giving to Hospice Care, donors assist this program in providing faith-based, end-of-life care that focuses not only on physical needs, but also on spiritual, emotional, and psychosocial health.
Outreach Social Services
Donations to the Outreach Social Services program help provide funds for the assessment of needs, resource identification and referral, and geriatric care management services.
Pastoral Care
Supporting Pastoral Care aids the efforts of our specially trained chaplains. The Pastoral Care team provides comfort and spiritual guidance our residents, families and staff.
Staff Scholarships
Donations to the staff scholarships assist with educational opportunities that keep staff throughout the Lutheran Senior Services organization current on the most advanced methods for caring for and supporting the senior lifestyle.
Volunteer Money Management
Supporting Volunteer Money Management provides funds for volunteers who assist seniors with day-to-day financial tasks.
