Lutheran Senior Services Named 14th Largest Nonprofit

Ziegler and LeadingAge release 2022 report on aging service providers

November 7, 2022, St. Louis, Missouri – Lutheran Senior Services was named the 14th largest nonprofit senior living provider in the 2022 LeadingAge Ziegler 200 (LZ 200) publication.

The report is developed annually through a partnership between Ziegler, one of the nation’s leading underwriters of financings for nonprofit senior living providers in the United States, and LeadingAge, the nation’s largest association of nonprofit aging service providers in the country. The LZ 200 publication details the nation’s 200 largest nonprofit senior living providers, as well as relevant business trends for the industry.

“Service to older adults is a privilege, and we’re proud to be a national leader among fantastic nonprofit peers reinvesting every dollar into our communities and team members,” said Adam Marles, CEO and President of Lutheran Senior Services. “We are a strong organization with a bright future, and we look forward to providing exceptional services to a growing population.”

Consistent with the past several years, this year’s report showed that nonprofit senior living providers have grown primarily through affiliations and acquisitions, as well as expansions within existing campuses.

“Our mission is older adults living life to the fullest, and the more people we serve, the more we live out that mission,” said Marles. “This will require evaluation of growth opportunities, and the entire LSS team is excited for the future ahead.”
