U.S. News Ranks Lutheran Senior Services Communities “Best Senior Living”

May 4, 2023, St. Louis, Missouri – All eight (8) Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) Life Plan Communities (LPC) earned a “Best” rating in the 2023-24 U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living analysis.

Each LSS community earned top honors for at least one of the four types of service evaluated – Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Continuing Care Retirement Community, also called a “Life Plan Community.” Only 43% of the nearly 4,000 communities that U.S. News evaluated earned a “Best” rating for even one service type. Notably, several LSS communities won “Best” for multiple categories.

“We are honored that every LSS community is being recognized as ‘Best Senior Living.’ I am so proud of the hard work and care from our team members that is reflected in these ratings,” said Adam Marles, LSS President and CEO. “Our team prides itself on providing exceptional senior living that meets the needs and preferences of older adults as they continue to seek purpose and fulfillment. This is how we live out our mission for older adults to live life to the fullest.”

The resident and family satisfaction survey rated the things that matter most – the kindness of staff, variety of activities, quality of the food and dining experience, whether local transportation is provided, the quality of on-site caregiving, and more. The top-rated communities for each type of care received the “Best Senior Living” designation.

“The fact that our Best Senior Living ratings are directly the result of positive feedback from the people we serve makes it even more meaningful,” said Ron Schaefer, LSS Chief Operating Officer. “And it’s a great benchmark for ourselves moving forward as we continue to create places, services, and opportunities for people to age well with purpose and fulfillment.”

To be included in the U.S. News analysis, senior living communities participated in the survey between April and November 2022 and had to meet certain eligibility criteria. Activated Insights, a nationally recognized research organization, conducted the online survey and the confidential data gathered was used by U.S. News & World Report, known for its influential rankings, to rate U.S. senior living brands.
