LPN Embraces Opportunity to become an RN

With the help of Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) programs, employees have opportunities to receive financial assistance to help further their education. Here is the story of one LPN is working toward becoming an RN to take better care of LSS residents and be an even better team member to her tight-knit team.

When Tarra Bronaugh walks into work at Laclede Groves, an LSS Life Plan Community in Webster Groves, Missouri, she knows that no matter what happens this shift she’ll be working with a great team. Not just a great team, but one that includes many people she’s worked with for more than 17 years. For 11 of those years, she has been an LPN, but with a little help from LSS, she’s now working to become an RN.

“I decided I wanted more education and more knowledge about nursing,” said Tarra.

Career development and supporting team members who want to grow in their position with LSS are important to this organization. Because of this, LSS offers scholarship programs and education tuition reimbursement to help team members who are interested in furthering their education.

“This tuition reimbursement program is helpful,” said Tarra. “I don’t have to worry about out-of-pocket costs, and I can still work.”
